Lahey Clinic Northshore Medical Center | Peabody, MassachusettsSamiotes Consultants Inc. provided complete land surveying and civil engineering services for the 63,000 square foot addition to the existing 162,000 sf Lahey Clinic Northshore Medical Center. SCI prepared a comprehensive existing conditions plan encompassing 10 acres of existing site improvements which served as a base for our design. A major challenge was due to the existing city drainage system inability to handle runoff from this site. SCI was responsible for all site utility design, and the civil aspects of Conservation, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Planning Board approvals. In addition SCI prepared a certified plot plan for the proposed 63,000 square foot addition for building permit acquisition, and provided construction layout services for this 3-story steel addition. |

Dimock Community Health Center | Roxbury, MassachusettsWorking for Dimock Community Health Care over a ten-year period, Samiotes Consultants has aided Dimock in renovating more than 70,000 square feet to restore many of the original buildings, and in constructing three new buildings of more than 50,000 square feet total. Barre Family Health Center (UMass Medical School) | Barre, MassachusettsSamiotes Consultants Inc. provided civil engineering services for the Barre Family Health Center. This project is the construction of a new, rural, academic health center building (the only one of its kind in Massachusetts) with associated appurtenances (i.e. parking, drainage, utilities, etc.). A particular site challenge is maintaining the existing health center’s operations during construction of the new center. The design included an improved storm drainage system to handle all runoff from the site, and to comply with the DEP’s Stormwater Management Policy. The building was certified as LEED Silver (one of the first LEED healthcare projects in Massachusetts). SCI also gained approval from the Conservation Commission to fill a portion of wetlands. |

Lynn Community Health Center | Lynn, MassachusettsSamiotes Consultants, Inc. provided civil engineering services for the 2-story, 42,000 sf addition to the existing Lynn Health Center. SCI’s design Responsibilities included the connection to domestic water supply, fire protection services, sanitary sewerage and storm drainage systems. All the utilities were designed to provide capacity for a potential future expansion of the building of an additional two stories. In addition, SCI designed site layout and grading and gained approvals from Lynn Water and Sewer. |

Germaine Lawrence Inc. | Arlington, MassachusettsSamiotes provided civil engineering services for Germaine Lawrence’s new, 10,500 sf treatment center located on the Arlington campus (formerly a convent). Germaine Lawrence provides high quality residential treatment services for troubled adolescent girls. The project required new water, sewer, and storm drainage systems. The utility connections were approved by the Arlington Department of Public Works. This project also involved the creation of a new parking lot to provide additional parking for the new treatment center. SCI designed the storm drainage system and gained approval from the Arlington Engineering Department for this expanded parking. |

Mary Ann Morse Nursing & Rehabilitation Center | Natick, MassachusettsEstablished in 1992, Mary Ann Morse Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is an award-winning non-profit facility owned and operated by Mary Ann Morse Healthcare Corp. Based on the current market requirements, the center needed to expanded to better service its clients and remain solvent. SCI provided Land Surveying and Civil Engineering Services for the project which included a new state-of-the-art rehabilitation gym with a built-in Occupational Therapy apartment and Activities of Daily Life (ADL) courtyard to help our patients transition from rehabilitation back to their community. The project was permitted through the Conservation Commission, Planning Board and Zoning Board of Appeals and Historic Commission. |
