Georgia-Pacific Triad Facility | Bellingham, MA

Georgia-Pacific Triad Facility | Bellingham, Massachusetts

Samiotes Consultants, Inc. completed the “fast track” approvals for the civil engineering design and construction of the New England Distribution/Warehouse Center for Georgia-Pacific Corporation, located in Bellingham.  This project consisted of siting and developing a two-building facility (480,000 gsf) and regional warehouse.  The project included designing a ConRail spur and analyzing whether the existing off-site bridge crossings would impede delivery of oversized rail loads.  Site plan approvals were obtained from both the Bellingham Planning Board and the Bellingham Conservation Commission.  As one of forty-six Triad facilities designed throughout the United States, this was one of only two facilities approved and constructed on time and on budget.

ACT Manufacturing Inc. (2 Cabot Rd.) | Hudson, MA

ACT Manufacturing Inc. (2 Cabot Rd.) | Hudson, Massachusetts

Samiotes Consultants’ civil engineering department provided the approvals and contract documents for expanding an existing 100,000 sf building by almost 50,000 sf. This project entailed obtaining waivers for parking and acquiring approvals from the Conservation Commission. The site program included expanding the existing parking facilities and the existing truck dock. For the expansion of the facility, Samiotes successfully illustrated to the Conservation Commission that the existing stormwater management plan had sufficient capacity to accommodate the proposed increased rate of runoff without any modifications to the existing system. In addition, Samiotes Consultants prepared a master site plan for parking demands that illustrated how the site could accommodate the parking requirements of the zoning by-laws. Samiotes then successfully prepared a plan that significantly reduced the required parking in order to meet the actual needs of ACT.  Additionally, Samiotes provided complete land surveying services, including an ALTA/ACSM land title survey and a foundation as-built plan for this 18-acre parcel.
