Lockheed Martin | Chelmsford, MA

Lockheed Martin | Chelmsford, Massachusetts

Samiotes Consultants provided land surveying and civil engineering services to Lockheed Martin’s Chelmsford office. The project was a 35,000 sf addition to the existing 65,000 sf structure. Samiotes also realigned the parking lot, adding badly-needed spaces. Samiotes designed the utilities (storm drainage, sanitary sewer, and lighting), infrastructure, and the grading for the addition. The site was challenging due to environmental issues:  the ground was contaminated, and Samiotes Consultants had to design the drainage system away from the affected areas to avoid any contamination migration. Approvals were obtained from the Conservation Commission, the Planning Board, and the Town DPW.

Staples Corporate Headquarters | Framingham, MA

Staples Corporate Headquarters | Framingham, Massachusetts

Samiotes Consultants Inc. provided civil engineering services for Staples Inc., with the design of a new parking facility to meet the increased needs of the company’s existing corporate headquarters building. The area of the parking facility was increased by 42 new spaces. The site had a myriad of constraints and various regulatory, abutter, and landowner concerns to overcome. These constraints included constructing below a major Boston Edison Easement (with stanchions in the middle of the parking lot), crossing a ConRail line with pedestrian traffic, configuring the property lines to accommodate a future municipal street widening, and designing the site to complement the future reconstructing of the office park by both the Bose Corporation and the Genzyme Corporation.
